The world famous Annual Puri Ratha Yatra -also known as Car Festival ( Charriot Pulling ), is celebrated every year (between June-July )in the Odia month of Asadha, on the second day of the lunar fortnight. Numerous devotees from across the world rush to Puri during this festival to have sacred glimpses of Lord Jagannath and to pull the chariot rope from Shree Mandir to Gundicha Mandir. The ropes of three huge chariots are pulled by millions of devotees.

Puri Beach Festival is an annual beach festival celebrated on the golden sea beach of Puri near Swargadwara every year during November month for 5 days. This festival is organized by the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Odisha (Orissa) (HRAO), co-sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, the Department of Tourism, Government of Odisha (Orissa), Development Commissioner of Handicrafts and the Eastern Zonal Cultural Center, Calcutta. This delightful cultural festival has been able to attract numerous tourist and participants from across the globe and hence gained it popularity in recent years. Exhibition of Handicrafts, Handloom and Sand Art, Fashion Shows, Cultural Programs, Culinary stalls are the main attractions of this grand event.

One can feel the vibrant culture of Puri while on a trip by it's narrowly streets with cheerfully painted houses, spoof of majestic house, has a charisma of its own. The spacious/wide grand road and the Lord Jagannath Temple are the major spot of attractions for the Pilgrims and visitors.

From the Chakratirtha road to the waterfront of Marine Drive Road there are score of star hotels, resorts available for to accommodate tourist coming to this divine land of Puri. Resorts towards the long stretch of Marine drive are more popular among the visitors who want a leisurely overnight stay, due to its waters front and calm serene atmosphere with cool sea breeze of Bay of Bengal.

Bhubaneswar Railway Station = 65 kms – for North India and North-East India
